Ramblings...

I sometimes wonder... why do I buy more and more yarn and fabric without putting a dent into the stuff I already have? Why is it that it's so vital to have tons of projects, tons of ideas lurking in my mind, tons of things I want to do for everyone and for myself?

Is it because if I do, if I never run out of things I "must" do--and no, I'm not talking about household chores--I have to remain healthy and well enough to fulfill these promises?

There's got to be a reason...

  1. Buying yarn is so exciting to me. I do it when I am happy, stress, sad, excited just about any time. I try to stash shop first but sometimes you just don't have the perfect yarn for a project and you have to go buy it. I think you deserve it!

  3. You are addicted to fiber.
You find a purpose in creating.
You take pride in your accomplishments.
I know, because I am and do also.

    Happy Easter.

  5. You know, my friend...I often wonder the EXACT same thing of myself. Personally, I feel that my projects for others are a display of my love for them - and will someday be my legacy. I feel this urgent need to spread my memory amongst those I care for. Plus, I see things I want to do - then I go buy the yarn...and then, darn it, Pinterest will distract me and get me going on YET ANOTHER TANGENT...so I go buy yarn for that too! I have a few projects in plastic bins...started but then distracted by something else that appeals to me. I think we're aware of our mortality and we want to use every available minute to make the most of it! Just enjoy whatever it is you're doing and don't analyze why...it's all good. Hugs to you.

    1. Yes, I figured you would and so would all the lovely ladies how comented before. I don't know about Ladylyke, but all the others have gone through serious health problems. Aside from the therapy aspect (and it is such a de-stresser, for me!) I believe you touched a very important point. I believe we are so conscious of our mortality that creating is more important to us than to other people. I would love someone to look at something I made in many years and think caringly "my grandmother made this" and cherish them like I cherish my grandmother's and greatgrandmother's works...
I guess that's part of it. A great part. You got it right...
Have a wonderful Easter, my dear.
