Spring in full bloom :)

It's not a really sunny day, but it's hot... and Spring seems to have arrived in all of its strength!

Does anyone know what this tree is? The flowers look almost like lilacs... but they don't smell like lilacs!

Hope you like the pictures :)
Have a wonderfull weekend!

  3. I thought they could be tilias (silly me!) because the leaves look a bit like theirs, but of course they're not... I definitely have to find out what they are, Kristen!
Thank you for your comments :)

  4. They look like the flowers from my Chinese Cherry tree I used to have at my old house. Does the tree get little berries on it during the year? The berries look smaller than cherries, but that's what I was told the tree is. Yours looks so much like mine, I bet it's some kind of cherry tree.

  5. Hi Pam!
I confess I don't know... this year I've been noticing these trees all over the place, wherever I go (in gardens, woods, on the sidewalks--considering they are grown, they must have been there for a while! But this year they're absolutely fantastic, I'd imagine it's from the 2 past years of a lot of rain in the winter and warm summers.
I'll let you know as soon as I find out! Thanks for your input :)

  6. This is a redbud tree, Cercis canadensis. Little flowers can appear even on the trunk, & the leaves are heart-shaped. :-)
